TheStage AI Platform: Where to Start¶
This article provides a comprehensive to-do list for getting started with TheStage AI platform.
For an in-depth understanding of the platform’s infrastructure, please refer to the article: TheStage AI Platform: Infrastructure
1. Getting Access to TheStage AI Platform¶
Visit TheStage AI Sign-Up and create an account.
Use your credentials to log in to your TheStage account.
Top up your balance to access payable services.
For detailed account management and billing information, please refer to the main article: TheStage AI Platform: Account and Billing
2. Creating Lists of SSK keys and API Tokens¶
SSH Keys
TheStage AI platform maintains a list of SSH keys that can be used to access server instances rented through the platform and containers running on the rented servers via SSH. Before renting a server instance, make sure to populate your SSH key list in your TheStage AI account. You can add existing SSH keys or generate new ones.
API Tokens
API tokens serve as a method for both authentication and authorization and can be generated through TheStage AI Web Interface. TheStage AI CLI requires a valid API token to connect to TheStage AI platform and access information about server instances, containers, and more. Most importantly, valid tokens are necessary for using the Qlip toolkit to optimize your models. Before you start using the CLI and Qlip, please ensure you create API tokens.
Please refer to the article: TheStage AI Platform: SSH Keys and API Tokens
3. Creating a Compute Cluster on TheStage AI Platform¶
Compute clusters are formed by renting server instances and connecting self-hosted servers.
Rented Server Instances
Compare offers form leading cloud providers and rent server instances. Refer to TheStage AI Platform: Rented Instances for a comprehensive explanation and instructions.
Self-hosted instances
Connect your self-hosted servers. Please refer to TheStage AI Platform: Self-hosted Instances for a comprehensive explanation and instructions.
4. Creating Projects¶
Projects primarily help to:
Divide computational resources between teams or different research directions.
Organize work within each project to ensure efficient management and execution.
Refer to TheStage AI Platform: Projects for more information.
5. Creating Containers¶
AI-related tasks are run within Docker containers. So, the next step is to set up Docker containers for your tasks.
There are two ways to create a container: a standalone container or a container within a project.
Please refer to TheStage AI Platform: Docker Containers for a comprehensive explanation and instructions.
6. Installing and Getting Familiar with TheStage AI CLI¶
TheStage AI provides a Command Line Interface (CLI) that enables researchers to perform specific tasks within TheStage AI infrastructure. So, please install the CLI tool from TheStage AI and familiarize yourself with its features.
Please refer to TheStage AI: CLI Reference for more information and guidelines on the tool.
